Case Study

The Foundation Center maintains a comprehensive database and interactive mapping tool of U.S. and global grantmakers and their grants. To better illustrate the scope and impact and tell an accurate, real-time story of philanthropy, they recognized the need to increase the number of foundations who participate in its electronic grant reporting program.

Foundation Center partnered with the Southeastern Council of Foundations to encourage SECF’s member foundations to pledge to become eGrant Reporters. We worked with Foundation Center staff to develop the Take the Pledge campaign, which was launched at SECF’s 2013 annual meeting.

We created eye-catching visuals and messaging that were placed throughout the conference venue to create interest and intrigue about the eGrant reporting program.

  • Signage near the entrance directed attendees to the Foundation Center booth, and Foundation Center and SECF staff wore “Ask me about eGrant Reporting” buttons during the conference.
  • We developed a program brochure and a pledge card that were handed out to attendees, who received “I took the Pledge” stickers after pledging to share their data.
  • All of the pledge cards that were received were pinned to a large map of the region that served as an attention-getting, high-impact backdrop for the booth.

“I cannot say enough good things about this powerhouse duo.  They are a perfect team, a well-oiled machine that can work seamlessly on all sides of a design project.  We have worked together on a number of endeavors at this point and I genuinely appreciate how flexible and determined they are to “get it right”.   They manage an interactive process well and are always open and responsive to feedback.  I always feel like I am on a team working towards a common goal with them.”
